Allyson Felix
Allyson Michelle Felix was born in Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Her father Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. And her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix displayed a knack for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed third in the 200 meters at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was a high school graduate when she graduated from school in 2003, signed the sports contract with Adidas. She then was accepted into at the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. A year later Felix won the first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting the world junior record sprinting 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. The youngest winner of the 200-meter race at the World Championships in Helsinki in 2005. She was able to defend her record time and time again in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top third of each of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
